OUR TAKE ON IT
The Spirit Of America is a well-established contest, and brings larger numbers of competitors. While most competitors are not bodybuilders (i.e., fitness & bikini pageant), the lenient class-crossover policy means that there will rarely be small classes. This also means the show will often take very long, with huge banks of time literally just waiting around. Like almost every promoter outer, they have not yet streamlined the archaic organization of the day.
The judging staff for the OCB in New England tends to be a small, local pool, and the personal familiarity of judges with competitors is not uncommon. Competitor caveats include keeping an open mind to the existence of subjective biases.
The contest venue is not fancy but not sparse. The day tends to run smoothly, with only minor glitches if any.
