OUR TAKE ON IT
This event takes place quit a while after the OCB's annual biggest event of the year, the Yorton Cup Championships. As such, the competition will probably not be intense; generally it will be for people looking to do one more contest in their year, or for those who want to compete for fun. This would be a good event to get a taste of competing without the intensity typically found at other autumn contests.
Sean & Debby Sullivan have been organizing competitions for a long time. Their standards are generally the same for every event: no frills, down home and few to no innovations on the traditional competitive formats.
While most competitors will not be bodybuilders (i.e., fitness & bikini pageant), the lenient class-crossover policy means that there will be several competitors in each class, and those classes will rarely be small. But this also means the show will often take very long, with huge banks of time literally just waiting around. Like almost every promoter outer, they have not yet streamlined the archaic organization of the day.
The judging staff for the OCB in New England tends to be a small, local pool, and the personal familiarity of judges with competitors is not uncommon. Competitor caveats include keeping an open mind to the existence of subjective biases.
