A blog by the Next Level  2013 Advancement Team.

This blog provides the insight, in-jokes and inspiration of a team in action.  Each post is by a team member as their journey continues.

In The Next Level, an "Advancement Team" is a team built of experienced athletes designed to "advance" the program.  The spring 2013 Advancement Team is comprised of eight men: Tom Keon, Phil Cohen, Stephen Cyr, Seth Carbonneau, Stephen Forgione. Phil Biondo, Yarza Winn and Chris Noonan.

Each post represents only the views of it's poster, and is not intended as a reflection of the opinions, views or beliefs of any other teammate, the team as a whole or The Next Level.

Follow these men as they make their marks on a small corner of history.

Another "Next Level First."

This program is FULL of running gags.  The athletes that stick around longer know them well.  They are rarely funny on the first encounter; they are the kinds of gags that get funnier with repetition.  Stupid little things that keep repeating themselves throughout the years, over and over among the teams.

One of those gags is "another Next Level first."  Every few weeks something happens in The Next Level that had never happened with any prior team ever before.  It's the nature of the program; because it can go literally anywhere, literally ANYTHING can happen.  And often does.

The upside is that most of the time the Next Level "firsts" are cool stuff.  (Intermixed with remarkably bone-headed one-off's.)  And right now you are witnessing, dear reader, yet another of our infamous "Next Level Firsts."

I am pleased to be coaching the second-ever Next Level Advancement Team.  Advancement Teams are made of experienced athletes who want to push their work even further in a team setting.  And one of the ways the 2013 Advancement Team is doing that is by sharing their journey with you.  They are the first PUBLIC team.  (That is QUITE an advance.)

I am beyond proud of Seth, Tom, Steve-O, Bakuri, Chris, Yarza, Handsome Steve, and Phil for starting this project.  Who knows where it will lead.  But as their humble coach, i can say I am beyond ecstatic.

Here's to another awesome Next Level first!
