Certain principles guide the Next Level coaching. Among them are the fact that training for strength is what yields better aesthetics, and that those who train for aesthetics are able to spot nuanced flaws that are otherwise masked while engaged in strength training. Basically: the two marry far more synergistically than popular wisdom dictates.
So one of the coolest team projects is how Next Level teams build knowledge and competitive goals in BOTH arenas. And DarkLion is no exception. They just had their first taste of StrongMan training and the addictive thrill of the experience was just as powerful as it has been for all the teams prior to them.
And speaking of previous teams, another law of Next level participation is the idea of "pay it forward'; that whatever personal gains you make, find ways to pay those values forward, even if only gradually or in unexpected ways. So once again the huge thanks to the amazing Team Guide and alumni Stephen Cyr (The Beast) is in order for stepping up and getting these guys on board with some heavy weights. Likewise, this day saw the awesome return of bad-ass Team Resource Ryan Aruck (The Beast), whose aggressive stance and pointers motivates like few others.
But the hero for the day was one of our favorite Team Resources, the incomparable Seth Carbonneau, whose coaching philosophies and approach to educating always inspires athletes to greatness. Seth brought his rational-yet-tough A-game to getting DarkLion up to speed. The whole team thanks Seth over and over!
And likewise, thanks a ton to the amazing Titan Barbell gym owner Eric Dawson for letting us hold our workshop. His community-focused vision and accessibility-driven stance makes the environment of this little training facility ideal for teams like DarkLion. (The team AGGRESSIVELY recommends you rain at Titan as soon as possible!)
And the fires are lit. More strength work to come for these guys, but we are definitely on our way!
