What is the most valuable human commodity?

This video is a short excerpt from a much longer discussion in a workshop with the Fall 2015 team.

We often seek to find ways to simplify work.  But the simplest way to get work done is to just pay it some attention, complete it, and move on to the next right task.

However, we live in a world where attention is commodified.  Money is a form of attention.  Time is a quantity of attention.  Reputation is a description of attention.  No matter where we look, human beings most fundamental behavioral element is attention.  Attention is what we use to make things happen, get things done and describe what needs to happen next.  

Attention is, in a nutshell the most important human commodity we have.

Is your attention precious?  Or do you cheapen it with trying to take shortcuts?  Allowing your attention to be the focus of your progress will allow you to know when the get hands on, versus when to apply one of the "attention proxies" we have in society.
