The only way I believe it has been ten years since the start of The Next Level is that I have less hair.
A lot less hair.
And whatever hair I have is even turning a bit gray. (Yet a distinguished - nay, dare I say, "sexy" – salt-and-pepper type of gray.) I say it's the wisdom.
And as I loaded up the website with pics, I came across thousands that I had to reject. Most were rejected because they were repetitive. (How many pics of a nearly naked dude flexing can we look at before it becomes completely mind-numbing? My current estimate: 5.) But some of the others I ran across were old pictures of me – WITH HAIR!
And there it was: PROOF that time has passed and there has been an endless – if scalp-stressing – dedication to the betterment of the individuals involved with these sports.
I am sure this will not be the last time I post about the decade that has passed. (Indeed, technically The Next Level is still in our ninth year - the actual ten year anniversary date is way out in December 2013.) But as the premier of our web presence has encouraged me to, yet again, glance into our amazing history, it was apropos to make an observation or two.
The Next Level has brought me intense and magical joy these past ten years.
But it has also cost me a TON of hair.
